Annie McCann at WestWords Parramatta
WestWords has partnered with Sydney Speculative Scribes to take your word from the page to the stage. Come read a short story or an excerpt from your longer work and listen to other speculative fiction writers in an intimate and supportive environment.
Our featured reader this session is Annie McCann.
Annie McCann is an Indonesian Australian author from Western Sydney. Her debut novel, My Harimau King, came out in June 2025 and is a portal fantasy that starts in Parramatta and leads to the ancient kingdom of Pajajaran in Indonesia. She has also written multiple short stories and is the founder of several literary networks. Annie is passionate about diversity and representation in books, media and pop culture, and aims to ‘bridge the gap’ in the creative space. On her limited days off, Annie is either jamming to Michael Jackson’s greatest hits or cheering on her NRL Football team, the Parramatta Eels.
