Now, these legends are great at describing and selling you a show, but our con is a complicated beast (though it prefers complex and misunderstood) so we’re going to take you through how to buy a ticket to all the different things you want to go to.
First, figure out which days you want to attend:
- Friday 11 September (Gala Night & Ghost Tour);
- Saturday 12 September (Siang Lu, panels, workshops and book launches); and/or
- Sunday 13 September (Garth Thomas, panels, workshops and open mic).

How to buy a pass
See image below. The page will automatically load on Friday 11 September (see red circle).
If you want to buy a ticket to the Gala on its own, just select the quantity in the top box (purple asterisk) Friday Night Ghostly Gala and check out.
If you want to attend the Gala AND another day, you’ve also come to the right place. Skip the top box (purple asterisk) and choose which combo you want from the options below (green brackets).
- Friday Night Ghostly Gala + Saturday Day Pass: access to Friday Gala and all Saturday sessions (except workshops)
- Friday Night Ghostly Gala + Sunday Day Pass: access to Friday Gala and all Sunday sessions (except workshops)
- ConSyderation Three Day Pass: access to Friday Gala and all Saturday and Sunday sessions (except workshops)
And then, just to trick you, there’s ConSyderation Weekend Pass: No access to the Friday Gala, but access to all Saturday and Sunday sessions (except workshops).
How to buy a workshop ticket
But what if I want to attend a workshop? I’m glad you asked, random person in my head.
First select the day the workshop is on using the calendar (red circle). You know when the workshop is on, right? You’ve checked the program? Good.
See image below. You’ll notice the workshops are initially greyed out (blue crosses). That’s because you can’t come to a workshop until you’ve selected a pass (that’s a day pass, weekend pass or three day pass). We’re able to offer the workshops for this great value price because it’s supported by the infrastructure of the con, so that means supporting the con.
So add at least 1 to the quantity of pass (day pass, weekend pass or three day pass) you want to buy, either in the purple asterisk section OR the green brackets section, and then the workshops will ‘ungrey’ themselves. Select the workshop/s you want to go to and add to cart.
The best practice is to book a pass and a workshop in the same transaction. If you’ve bought a pass and want to add a workshop later, let us know; it’s annoying but the site is not set up for that and we have a workaround.
Double check everything in your cart to see you haven’t added overlapping days by accident or there isn’t a better package (like instead of buying a Friday Night Ghostly Gala + Saturday Day Pass and a Sunday Day Pass, you could just get a ConSyderation Three Day Pass for cheaper).
Check all charges, too. There’s a compulsory $4.60 transaction fee and, if you’d like to donate to Fringe, there’s a suggested $10 contribution that gets tagged onto each transaction. You can unselect the contribution if you wish.
How to buy a discounted ticket
If you have a discount code, do not select a quantity in the top box (purple asterisk) or the lower area (green brackets).
Instead, enter and validate the code in the PASS AND DISCOUNT CODES box (yellow arrow). This unlocks your special rate, and you can then book from there.
Please note there are separate discount codes for the Gala and the Day Passes and they do not include the packages or workshops. So you can’t buy a ConSyderation Weekend or Three Day Pass at a discount, nor a workshop. If you would like to buy a day pass for both Saturday and Sunday, you need to select each individual calendar day, enter and validate the code, and add each day pass to cart.
Discount codes are given to participants such as the entourage of gala performers, and moderators and panellists who wish to attend the rest of the con.
