- Short Story Club #2

‘The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas’ by Ursula K Le Guin
Short Story Club is a reading club for time-poor people who love speculative fiction. Just like other clubs we read the story and discuss it… though expect to go deeper into craft elements as writers.
This Short Story Club reading is Ursula K Le Guin’s ‘The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas‘.
(There’s also a bonus reading, if you feel like it, of a recent response story in Clarkesworld magazine, ‘Why Don’t We Just Kill the Kid In the Omelas Hole‘ by Isabel J Kim.)
Host: Adam Richard with Sheriden Goldie
Date: Wednesday 11 February 2026
Time: 5.30pm
Venue: The Orchard Hotel, 455 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood
Bring: Your thoughts on the short story, having read it before the meeting.
